The RV1960 vs. The Deity of Jesus Christ

Any Christian knows that Jesus Christ is the Lord of Glory. Any born-again child of God knows that Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Even the non-Christian sect known as the Jehovah's "false" Witnesses claims that Jesus Christ is "lord." But, there has never been an end to the controversy over whether or not Jesus Christ is deity. Ever since the Gnostics began corrupting the word of God in Alexandria, Egypt, because they couldn't understand how God could fashion Himself "in the likeness of sinful flesh," the nay-sayers have been decreasing Jesus (John 3:30) to bring Him down to the level of Mohammed, Joseph Smith, Confucius, Zoroaster, Isis, Elvis Presley and various other invented human gods.

These attempts by unregenerate sinners to "low-rate" the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ culminated with a Greek text fabricated from two corrupt Greek manuscripts and foisted upon the body of Christ by two corrupt "scholars" named Westcott and Hort. It is this Greek text (known by many as the Alexandrian Text; as in Alexandria, Egypt; as in Egypt, a type of the world in the Bible) that forms the basis of all subsequent revisions of the AV1611 Bible in English and the Valera Bible in Spanish. These revisions follow the Godless fetish that JW's, Mormons, Secular Humanists, Gnostics, Atheists, and Potheads have for denying the Deity of Jesus Christ. In dozens of passages, this Greek text (whose primary Greek manuscript is under lock and key in the Vatican library in Rome, catalog #1209) destroys the doctrine of the Deity of Christ. In this tract, we attempt to show that the corrupt RV1960 Spanish revision of the original Valera Bible follows Rome's lead in regards to the deity of Jesus Christ. That is, we are here documenting that the Spanish people have had the correct text for 400 years and in 1960, those who follow the corrupt Alexandrian text gave them a counterfeit that attacks the deity of Jesus Christ.

Here follows 8 passages of Scripture that have been correct in regards to the Deity of Christ for more than 400 years in Spanish. We chose 8 because Westcott and Hort chose 8 Scriptures to back up their false theory of Lucian's "recension." There are more than 8 we could mention, but if 8 is all they could come up with then only 8 are needed to show how very corrupt the RV1960 and its underlying Vatican text really are.

1) Ephesians 3:9 In 1602 Cipriano de Valera, a Protestant street-preaching pastor, in exile from Spain because of his stand for the gospel and the word of God, produced a Spanish Bible that has this verse correct. It says, in Spanish and English, that God in heaven created "all things by Jesus Christ." The corrupt Greek text put out by Westcott and Hort removes the words "by Jesus Christ" and thereby makes Jesus Christ a created being (i.e. included in the "all things" category). And of course the RV1960, put out by a Latin American revision committee headed up by a "gringo" infidel named Eugene Nida, follows the corrupt text and removes the words "by Jesus Christ" (por Jesu Cristo). For 400 years the Spanish-speaking people have had the correct Bible and with one stroke of the pen the words of God are removed and the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus Christ corrupted.

2) Acts 15:17 The words "saith the Lord, who doeth all these things" are removed even though they have been in the Valera Bible for more than 400 years. Once again we have an example where Eugene Nida (the "father" of Dynamic Equivalence) decided to change the Bible because "…in some instances…a critical text is so much to be preferred over the traditional Textus Receptus, [therefore] the committee did make some slight changes..." These slight changes amount to hundreds of corruptions forced onto the fledgling Latin churches found throughout Latin America. In the context of the passage, God is speaking (v.18) and he says that He is going to return (v.16) after calling out a people for "His name." By removing the words "saith the Lord, who doeth all these things" the fact is lost that it is Jesus Christ Himself who is to return ("doeth all these things"). The "things" He is doing is returning and establishing His kingdom ("tabernacle of David"). Of course the reason we are given this corrupt reading has everything to do with the corrupt pair of manuscripts (B and א), one of which the pope has squirreled away in his library in Rome.

3) Acts 20:28 The word "God" (Dios) is changed to "Lord" (Señor), destroying the truth that the blood that Jesus Christ had flowing through His veins was "God's blood." Once again we have an attack on the deity of Jesus Christ because, if Jesus had "God's blood" coursing through his body then it must be that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh when He walked this earth. The defenders of the RV1960 don't bother to mention this verse in ANY of their literature because they know that this verse is based on the Alexandrian manuscripts put out by Westcott and Hort and specifically, based on the Codex Alexandrinus (we don't call them the Alexandrian cult for nothin', brother).

4) Luke 2:22 Even defenders of the RV1960, such as Calvin George in his book The Battle for the Spanish Bible (p. 23), admit that this one is difficult to explain. This RC corruption has Jesus being purified along with Mary. In the KJV Mary is given credit for what she is, a woman who was a sinner in need of a Saviour (Luke 1:47). Here the RV1960 aligns itself with the Roman Catholic critical text. The amazing thing is that the original 1602 Valera is so strongly anti-Roman Catholic that the word "Maria" is inserted to make sure that the reader is sure to get the idea that Mary needed purification and NOT Jesus. Calvin George and his friends have a higher regard for Mary than Scripture warrants.

5) I Corinthians 10:9 Who was it that guided the Hebrew children in the desert? Who was it that they tempted with their murmuring and complaining? The JW/RC corruption put out in Spanish by Eugene Nida (the man who translated a South Pacific Bible with the words "Behold, the PIG of God"), makes it clear, by changing the word "Christ" to "Lord," that he does not believe it was the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the type of spiritual tap dance that ultimately leads millions to a burning hell. The Inquisition kept the true Spanish Bible out of Latin America for 400 years. Now the Bible Societies are trying to perpetuate the work of the Inquisitors by corrupting the original 1602 Valera Bible. The Latinos were better off with the Inquisition!

6) Acts 7:30 Again we have an example of the Bible stating clearly (AV1611, original Valera, TR, etc.) that Christ appears in the OT, not only as Jehovah God, but as "THE Angel of the Lord." How anyone could miss this truth is beyond imagination. Removing the definite article, which points out that this Angel is not like all the other angels, and removing the words "of the Lord" (del Señor), degrades this Angel to just any ol' angel. This type of corruption is par for the course for Gnostic heretics such as the JW's, the Jesuits, defenders of the RV1960 and other various and sundry Bible correctors. Jehovah God is the One who does the speaking in Exodus 3:4. The same passage states that it is THE angel of the Lord (Jehovah). And even the RV1960 has it correct in the OT (Ex. 3:2) but NOT in the NT. The 1960 both contradicts itself and invalidates the deity of Jesus Christ! Welcome to Laodicea!

7) Luke 23:42 When the word "Lord" appears in the NT it usually refers to the Lord Jesus Christ. The amazing thing is that sometimes the term is applied to Jesus Christ when quoting an OT passage that refers to Jehovah God. The salient example is Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." This is a direct quote from Joel 2:32 referring to Jehovah God. In Romans 10:9 it is Jesus Christ. That is, Jesus Christ IS Jehovah God according to Romans 10 and unless you call upon Him you cannot be saved. In the corrupt RV1960, put out by a "gringo" Bible corrector named Eugene Nida, the thief on the cross went to Hell because he refused to call upon the Lord Jesus Christ (who according to Romans 10:13 is Jehovah God). And why was the word "Lord" removed from the RV1960 after it had stood there for more than 400 years? Because the pope's manuscript in Rome took it out and ALL roads lead back to Rome!

8) Mark 9:24 If the reader is not yet convinced that something smells fishy in Denmark, note that here too, the word "Lord" is removed from the text of the Valera Bible by the 1960 revision committee. The man comes to Jesus with tears and NO HOPE that the boy will be saved (physically or spiritually) because Jesus is no longer "Lord" Jehovah who must be called upon for salvation or healing according to Romans 10:13.
