8 reasons for which we should keep the old valera Bible

1.           It is the word of God, that has not been corrupted since Cipriano de Valera, in 1602 took in hand to translate it into the Castilian language: 2 Corinthians 2:17, “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God.”

2.           It is the word of God, that has marked the history of humanity and of the church, until it was departed from and supplanted in 1960, Luke 21:33.

3.           It is the word of God that faithfully defends, at every phrase and in every verse, this unique truth: JESUS CHRIST IS GOD, Matthew 1:23.

4.           It is the word of God, that to the modern world is antiquated and out fashion, Luke 21:23.

5.           It is the word of God, that even today, continues to be persecuted by political systems, organized religion, liberals, atheists and by all those that have their part with the devil in Hell, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-9.

6.           It is the word of God, that faithfully maintains the received text (Textus Receptus) given to the apostles of the early church. Example: Since the 2^nd century, the old Valera reads textually (1 Cor. 10:9) as follows: “Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.” Compare, and I am sure that a Jehova’s “false” witness would be in agreement with all the modern versions, having removed the word “Christ,” and replacing it with the word “Lord.”

7.           It is the word of God, that does not permit corrupt worldly men and Roman Catholics to easily unite against it, without some witness against them. I cite the history: The Eastern Baptist Convention annual meeting, 1995, were there present two men who were promoting the 1995 revision. It is very curious that one of the men was a Roman Catholic. One of the pastors present at the meeting, Jose A. Milhet, stood up to point out this infamy, (1 Cor. 10:6-12).

8.           It is the word of God, that was first introduced in Cuban in the 1890’s by the pioneers of the Gospel. The churches in Cuba traded in their old Bible for 2 reasons: 1. From 1960 onwards, no other Bibles were permitted in Cuba, except the modern version [RV1960], and that with official government permission, 2. It was widely proclaimed that the modern version had “updated” the language. What was not mentioned was the 100’s of omissions and additions made to it. It would be good to point out that the Baptist churches in the east of Cuba maintained their old Valera Bibles for over 100 years, and that even today there remain some of us brethren who hold to IT as a special treasure, Rev. 22:18-19.
